Rapid Deployment Pack Implementation

This document describes the minimum tasks which are accomplished by a consultant from UBM Professional Services during the implementation of Rapid Deployment Pack. Additional tasks can be agreed with UBM Professional Services before the implementation day.

A successful implementation with all the below tasks requires that the customers network infrastructure is setup accordingly to the requirements for Deployment Solution.

The customer is responsible that all the needed services, ports and protocols are available and routed in the network and that a server is properly setup and configured to install Altiris Deployment Solution for Dell Servers.

Server preparation

Installation of the MSDE database if needed
Installation of the Microsoft IIS Server (if a web console is required)

Installation and configuration of one Altiris Deployment Server
Installation and configuration of one Altiris PXE Server
Installation and configuration of Rapid Deployment Pack

Server management with Rapid Deployment Pack

Scripted installation of Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server on one server
Image creation of Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 server of one server
Image distribution of Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 server to one server

Customers, who order the implementation service for Rapid Deployment Pack from UBM Professional Services and visit the Rapid Deployment Pack training by UBM, are eligible for one year phone and e-mail support from UBM Professional Services.
