HP ThinClient Management Services

During the one day onsite visit, the UBM consultant will perform the following tasks:

• Install Microsoft MSDE database (if needed)
• Install and configure Altiris Deployment Solution
• Configure Altiris PXE Server to function in customers environment
• Create an image of a HP ThinClient
• Distribute this image to up to 10 ThinClients
• Introduce the customer in the usage of Deployment Solution
• Perform additional tasks, i.e.:
  » Script execution
  » Software installation
  » Configuration change
  » Remote control
  » Power control

Those tasks are based on built-in functionality of Deployment Solution or based on scripts which are available for the according version of the ThinClient. See the following list for available Altiris scripts by HP for the t5710:

Supported ThinClients

HP t5000 thin client series, which includes the t5300, t5500, and t5700 clients.

Thin clients come pre-installed with Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE .NET, or Linux, depending on the model of the device. All HP thin clients come pre-installed with the Deployment Agent.

Due to limitations of the CE.NET operating system, some functionality might not be available. Please contact UBM Professional Services to get a detailed list of limitations for CE.NET management.
